Gay Columbus Cruising

The other day surfing the internet I saw a very interesting story about the scientist and inventor which Galileo was studying the speed of light, many people think that the concept of light speed was developed by Einstein, but the truth is that this phenomenon was studied in antiquity.
Galileo himself did an experiment to determine the speed of light was to make lanterns signals from two hills that were about 1 km away. His idea was to measure the time it takes for light to travel twice the distance between the experimenters in the hills. One uncovers his lantern and when the other saw the light, unplugged at yours. The time elapsed since the experimenter to uncover his lantern until he saw the light coming from B was the time taken for light to travel round trip distance between the two experimenters.
Although the method is successful, the speed of light is very high and the measuring time was even smaller than the fluctuations of the human response. Galileo could not get a fair value for speed of light. From Galileo
, followed many experiments to determine the speed of light.
The drawing below represents a simplified method of Foucault. When the rotating mirror
eighth gives back during the time light takes to go to fixed mirror and back, the next face of the mirror is in position to reflect light toward the observation telescope.
